|Pumpernickel is located in Friars Vennel, the oldest street in Dumfries.
On the walls of the buildings, visitors can find plaques with notes of historical interest.
|At the top of Friars Vennel there once stood the old Greyfriers Monastery where the Friers, who gave their name to the vennel, lived.
